My Approach to Relationship & Sex Therapy

Therapy Done Differently

Therapy should offer more than just a “safe space” — it should be active, effective, and help you uncover what’s really going on. Clients come to me looking for answers, clarity, and a way forward, and I take that responsibility seriously. I see the role of a therapist as a guide, illuminating areas that might be a little darker or murkier than clients can navigate by themselves.

That’s why my approach is direct and practical — I don’t just sit back and nod while leaving you to flounder in the dark. I don't believe in therapy that resembles reading tea leaves or relies on vague or flimsy interpretations. My style is grounded in reality with reason-based, precise interventions.

Therapists are commonly known as ‘wounded healers,’ and I’m no different. I guide my clients on a path I have walked before them, which allows me to recognise the steps they’re taking and each foothold forward they negotiate. It’s this lived experience that helps me guide others with empathy and precision.

It’s also why I know therapy isn’t always a walk in the park — it can be tough at times. I work with that in mind, supporting your journey as we go. My experience and intuition help me to be gentle yet firm; I push when I can and soothe when it’s needed. This work is never just clocking in for me — I genuinely care about my clients’ well-being and want to see them all succeed.

My approach is rooted in attachment theory, self-esteem and emotional work, and the deep connection between mind and body. I help clients move beyond surface-level coping strategies using a framework I’ve developed and refined through years of experience and real-world observation of what actually works in moving people forward.

My slogan, “Therapy done differently,” captures my philosophy and reflects my rejection of the vagueness that often shrouds the world of therapy, making it more inaccessible and mysterious than it needs to be.

Therapy with me is engaging, collaborative, and fast-moving — because when you start working with yourself in the right way, progress doesn’t have to take years. That said, therapy isn’t about quick fixes — it’s about lasting change. It’s a process: some sessions will feel like breakthroughs, others might move more slowly, but each one contributes to the bigger picture of growth and understanding.

Slide 1

"Through couples therapy with Vivian me and my wife were able to deeply transform a seemingly impossible impasse in our relationship. Vivian guided us with warmth, care and a profound understanding of both of our lives. The fact that me and my wife got married and had a child after her therapy is testament to her incredible work. Our relationship has flowered beautifully. During individual therapy with Vivian I was able to develop composure in facing challenging circumstances and take control of my life, which I am deeply grateful for."— M (Couple/individual 2024)
